Tent and tog bag facility
The Irene tent and tog bag facility will be at all official AGN and other bigger races. You can leave your tog bag and run/walk with the peace of mind that it will be safe. After the race you can mingle with other club members without having to fetch your tog bag at other tog bag facilities.
League races
In 2003 refreshments (tea, coffee and rusks) were introduced at most races. Refreshments (cold drinks, Energade and beers) in the trailer are for sale. The idea was to have refreshments available for members as a matter of convenience. At all league and other selected races something to eat is served free of charge.

Irene clubhouse
Every Tuesday evening there is a time trail at the clubhouse on the ARC grounds. Refreshments are for sale at the bar until 20h00. Other sport events can be watched on a satellite TV in the clubhouse. This must be one of the highlights of the week where one can forget about work, make friends and mingle with other runners and walkers.

Social evenings

The first Tuesday of each month is a social evening at the clubhouse where there will be something to eat for sale at a reasonable price. The bar stays open till 21h00 and lucky draw prizes can be won after the time trial. In October we will have a pub crawl run and braai instead of the usual social evening. This evening will definitely see a few drinks go down.

Formal events
Chairman's Ball – This event takes place in September and is not to be missed. This is a formal dinner and dance - so ladies this is the perfect opportunity to buy that beautiful evening dress that you have always wanted!!!

Year-end function – this takes place in November to end the year on a high and also to acknowledge the achievements of members during the year.
Irene races
We host the Spar Lantern, Aminostim and LiquiFruit races. The rule is that no club member will run these races but will assist in presenting the best races in town. For all these races there will be a pre-race on a Tuesday club evening so that club members can participate. On the day of the race something to eat and drink for the workers will be available at the Irene tent after the race.
Other popular races
At the Loskop, Om-Die-Dam and Bronkhorstspruit races everyone is invited to bring along gas braais and picnic baskets and socialize with other members. The tent and tog bag facility will be there as usual. This is a real family day where everyone can spend some time together.
Once a year a very special event happens…the COMRADES. If you are there and not running, make sure to be at the Irene supporter station along the route and join the other supporters to help the participating club members along to the finish line.

Talking about team work… Irene club is responsible for a water point at the City-to-City race. If you aren’t running the City-to-City come and join the club at the water point. The intention is to have the best watering hole but if we cannot win that prize, we will definitely win the prize for the best party.
