Irene Spring Race

The Irene Spring race takes place on Saturday, the 29th of September from the Irene Village Mall in Irene.

The ever popular Irene Village Mall will be host to this exciting 10km and 21.1km road race (including a 5km fun run/walk).  Once again the 21.1km forms part of the second leg of the Irene Triple Challenge and was also selected as the AGN League Race. 

The race starts at 06:00 and harness the best elements of a spring morning while promoting healthy and fit living.  All participants will receive an eco-friendly medal for their efforts for what is sure to become a very popular event for young and old alike.

Rules

  1. All participate at their own risk and by their entry indemnify the organisers and sponsors of any liability or claims.
  2. All participants in the 10 km and 21.1 km must wear a valid ASA licence number on their backs during the race. Unlicensed runner/walkers must buy a temporary licence. Race numbers must be worn on the front of the running top.
  3. The race will take place under the rules of ASA, AGN and IAAF and all participants must wear club colours during the race, except when participating with temporary licences.
  4. Marshals and traffic officials must be obeyed at all times.
  5. No seconding will be permitted.
  6. Minimum age of 14 years on day of race for 10 km and 16 years for the 21.1 km.
  7. Category winners must provide proof of age to qualify for prizes (ID or other valid documentation).
  8. There's no age restriction for the 5 km.
  9. Athletes competing for category prizes must wear official age category ID tags (front and back of vests).
  10. Foreign athletes must observe IAAF rule 4 paragraph 2.
  11. No iPods or listening devices are allowed.
  12. Walkers competing for prize money must wear official Walker tags (front and back of vests).
  13. Medical support will be available.
  14. Entry fees are not refundable.
  15. Entries cannot be refunded, cancelled, returned or exchanged on account of the weather or any unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the event organisers.

GOLD      -     First 10 men & women and category winners.
SILVER    -    Next 100 (excluding category winners)
BRONZE   -   To all finishers (4000 on race day. Remaining medals to be collected at the Irene Athletics Club.)

Prize Giving

Prize giving will take place at 8:00 (10 km) and 9:00 (21.1km).

Please note 
Category winners who are not present at the prize giving will have to collect their prizes / medals at the office of Irene Athletic Club.
