Irene turned 20 years old!2014 marked the 20th anniversary of Irene Athletics Club! We celebrated this extremely important milestone in everything we did in 2014. We had a special focus on all our annual races and we welcomed everybody to join us in celebrating 20 awesome years of incredible memories, unforgettable experiences and beautiful friendships.
Thank you to all of you who were part in creating these first amazing 20 years! A special thanks to all our members who contributed to our progress and success, making this milestone even possible. We are grateful for each and everyone of you! We are hoping that the celebrations will continue long into 2015 and that the next 20 years will continue to reflect the passion and professionalism that is Irene Athletics Club. RacesWe start the year off with one of the top 10, 10km races in South Africa when we host our famous Spar Irene Lantern race on the 11th of February. This race has been described as the "only true blue romantic run" in Tom Cottrell's Runners Guide and with only 2 nights away from Valentine's, a must race for all romantics at heart!
The second race on the Irene running calendar is our special Spring race, the Clover Irene Spring Run. The race is growing in stature every single year and we are hoping to make this year's race an even more auspicious occasion. Come and join us for a brisk Spring morning run at the very familiar Irene Village Mall. |
Our RacesWeekly Time TrialsOur weekly Time Trials take place every Tuesday at the ARC-Irene Campus. Everybody young and old are welcome to join us.
Social EveningsOur social evenings are held on the first Tuesday of every month. All runners and social members are welcome. Bring the whole family for a fun evening out.
